Studying “Business and Sustainable Development’ during Jose’s exchange program in Canada was a turning point in his career. It began to shape the way he understands the complexities of the times we live in. The message that got stuck in his mind was simple: the ‘Business As Usual’ of today will not resist and the transition towards a low emissions economy will be the largest challenge humanity has ever faced. Believing that an immediate transformation is crucial is one of the reasons why he is currently enrolled in a Master in Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, specializing in climate economics and energy policy. His motivation to apply to this workshop is to foster his knowledge and network in the field, especially to take advantage of the expertise created by Germany, one of the world leaders in the transition towards a zero carbon economy.
