Franziska is a government councillor at the Ministry of the Interior of the Federal State of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) where she is working on international and environmental aspects of disaster control and relief management. In this position, her focus areas are nuclear security, climate change, the protection of critical infrastructures as well as the bilateral relations to the Netherlands and Belgium and the Benelux Union. She is also part of the crisis management group of the federal state government.
Previously, Franziska was an Administration Trainee in NRW with assignments inter alia at the NRW Representation to the EU in Brussels, GIZ in Cairo and the District Council in Arnsberg. Prior to that she interned at the German Ministry for the Environment, the German Chamber of Commerce in Morocco as well as in private-sector companies. Franziska is a graduate of the Hertie School’s MPP (2013) and holds a German-French B.A. in international management.
