Ana Amazo is a consultant in the area of energy policies at Ecofys Germany. Her work focuses primarily on support schemes and auctions for renewables, as well as the communication of the Energiewende. Before joining Ecofys, she worked as an external consultant with the GIZ drafting a “Guide for Policymakers” interested in implementing auctions for renewable energy. Ana did her B.A. in Government and International Relations in Colombia.

Andreas Schröder

As Senior Analyst at E.On/Uniper Global Commodities SE, Andreas Schröder is currently working on natural gas markets. Andreas builds on a long-standing experience in energy economics with a focus on quantitative market analysis. Before joining E.On in September 2015, he worked 2 ½ years at Vattenfall Energy Trading GmbH in Sweden and Germany dealing with carbon markets and renewable energies as well as natural gas. Andreas defended his PhD Thesis on fundamental modelling of power markets in 2013 as part of the Graduate Center of DIW Berlin in collaboration with TU Berlin, supervised by Prof. von Hirschhausen and Prof. Kemfert. He previously obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from Vrije Univeristeit Amsterdam in 2008 where he wrote a Thesis on the EU Emission Trading System. During and after his studies he interned for half-a-year with the European Commission (DG Energy & Transport) and two months with the German Foreign Office on international climate policy topics.

Annkathrin is working as a management consultant at Accenture GmbH in the utilities sector. Before, she has been working at the German Federation of Industries (BDI), Deutsche Telekom AG and RWE AG. With the latter she wrote her master thesis on the interests of stakeholders in the introduction of a capacity mechanism in Germany. Nathan is an MPP candidate (Class of 2017) here at the Hertie School of Governance. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from King’s College London. Having worked in various sectors including (French) public administration, research, and consulting, Nathan is particularly interested in the governance of energy transitions. He is currently writing his thesis on how to effectively inform decision-makers through long-term energy scenarios. Nathan is furthermore the executive editor of the Governance Post, Hertie’s official student online magazine, and currently works as a research assistant at IET-Consulting here in Berlin.

Olga is an Energy Policy Intern at SMA Solar Technology AG, a German solar energy equipment supplier. Prior to this, she interned in Energy Policy at VNG – Verbundnetz Gas AG and was an HR Development intern at a German oil and natural gas producing company, organizing trainings for managers from Russia. Ulrike Hinz

Ulrike Hinz studied International Management and Economics with a focus on sustainability in Berlin, Melbourne and Prague. She works as a project manager at ubitricity, a young company at the interface between electromobility and energy.
