The Hertie Energy and Environment Network (HEEN) lauched a mentoring program matching master students from the Hertie School of Governance (HSoG) with professionals in the field of energy and environment. To live up to the intention of offering more activities between the workshops, HEEN organised a tour at EUREF Campus in Berlin, followed by a Stammtisch in a nearby bar in early August 2017. The EUREF Campus was built around the symbolic gasometer located in Schöneberg. The area is today an open-air laboratory that houses
HEEN Workshop kicked off with a visit at transmission operator 50 Hertz headquarters in Berlin and a subsequent barbecue party. Saturday went on with an auction simulation, presentations on auction design, a panel deiscussion on populism and the Hertie Foundation Summer Party. On Sunday, the group played a "war game" on renewable energy support schemes.
Working groups during HEEN VI workshop in Berlin, Nov 2016. The Sixth HEEN weekend workshop took place in Berlin in November 2016. The workshop, entitled “Power^2 - Sector Coupling as the frontier of the energy transition”, focused on pressing issues regarding the coupling of the electricity sector with transportation, heating and other sectors.
